It’s really true. I think that’s what I found mostly missing in the Brutalist. But for an early scene, we really don’t get much investigation into built space itself; at least the film spends much more time on other equally meaty topics. But then throws the ideas you have noted at us at the very end. I found myself scratching my head and wanting more.
I never expected to read about Aylesbury ever again, but if someone told me I would read about it today, I'd have guessed it would be your fault.
