Uganda's Joshua Cheptegei broke the world record for 5,000m at the Monaco Diamond League meet. (Runner's World)
Cheptegei had fantastic pacing for the first 2.5 kilometers and a technological assist from Wavelight, a lighting system that raced along the inside lane at the previous world-record pace. But he was alone for the last half of the race and his effort was masterclass: none of his final six laps differed by more than half a second. (LetsRun)
