Welcome back to Breakfast Club, your (bi)weekly dose of outdoor content.
Having fought through lingering pain in my foot this week, I've realized the issue is likely a stress reaction in one of my metatarsals. If so, it's my second bone injury in as many years, which is frustrating. But so it goes.
Now in my third decade of competitive running, here’s my best injury advice: reframe injury as an opportunity to spend more time on interests and activities outside of running. Don't worry: you’ll bounce back and return to running shape soon. Time is on your side.
But meanwhile, expand yourself. Perhaps there are work projects you can lean into or family time to prioritize. Maybe it's a moment to take on a support role for friends and family. Maybe this is an opportunity to get involved in community work. Or there might be books you've been meaning to read.
