This weekend I raced the Berkeley Half Marathon, a thirteen-mile ramble through the famous university town. The course is a full tour of Berkeley's peculiar suburbia, running through campus to the edge of the hills, before careening down the crumbling asphalt of the town's mid-century neighborhoods to the bay shore.
