Front of the Pack:
The New York Marathon was on Sunday. In her debut marathon, Joyciline Jepkosgei won the women's race, just missing the course record. In the men's race, Geoffrey Kamworor won his second New York title. Jared Ward and Desi Linden were the top Americans, both finishing 6th. (LetsRun)
With all the sub-2 hoopla, Leonard Korir's debut marathon slipped under the radar. Korir's 2:07:56 is the fastest debut by an American and the fifth-fastest American time ever. (Runner's World)
