Good morning!
I ran the Cal International Marathon this weekend in Sacramento. And while my hips and legs are reminding me of the effort every time I put on pants, the good vibes still linger. I spent a big chunk of the race running with the eventual women's winner, Emma Bates, before moving through the field over the last half to smash my previous best from last year.
It was a solid day for American distance running more generally: 54 men hit the Olympic Trials standard and 99(!) women punched their ticket to the 2020 Trials. Bay Area locals also performed with a slew of OTQs, personal bests, and Boston Marathon qualifiers.
Moreover, I'm delighted to announce that That's Fine Track Club's holiday fundraiser for the Camp Fire has been an enormous success. We've raised over $8,400 for Paradise High School's cross country and track teams. Citius Magazine was a huge help: they held a mini-p…
