Good morning!

Sadly, due to continuing poor air quality from the Camp Fire, Breakfast Club's Thursday morning run will be cancelled this week.  This will be the first non-holiday cancellation of the weekly run in the four years of its existence.  Pretty good streak, I'd say!  But the toxic air is a serious matter, so the run is postponed until next week after the smoke clears. 

As Governor Jerry Brown noted this week, this is the "new abnormal."  In a mere 13 months, California has experienced seven of the most destructive wildfires in the state's recorded history. 

Of course, the new abnormal is not limited to the west coast.  On the eastern seaboard record-breaking hurricanes continue to shatter coastline communities.  Across the Atlantic, a summer heatwave scorched northern Europe for weeks.  Off the coast of Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, the largest living organism on ear…
