Good afternoon!
Last weekend I joined friends and family to celebrate Leah Cowdrey and Torrey Olsen taking the figurative (and literal) plunge at Lake Tahoe. After a lovely marriage ceremony along the water in Sugar Pine State Park, the newlyweds changed into swimsuits and jumped into the lake to symbolize the start of their lives together.
A theme of the wedding was the joyful community that Torrey and Leah, both East Bay runners, had created around themselves. During the reception dinner, I sat next to Pat Mulcahy, the former cross country and track coach of Pomona-Pitzer College, whose no-frills encouragement served as the inspiration for That’s Fine Track Club. Family and friends toasted the married couple, and folks danced into the night.
