the east bay's running newsletter
Good afternoon!
I hope you are surviving the toasty weather! A heatwave has gripped most of the world, even here in Northern California where temperatures this weekend soared into the 90s beyond the East Bay hills. I always find warm weather in the Bay Area to be mildly apocalyptic: when the moisture burns off, the fear of wildfire looms just beyond the ridge line, silent and unspoken.
But warm temperatures also mean the celebration of summer and Independence Day! On July 4th, I joined a group of sixteen happy warriors in Alameda for a quick 5K jaunt along the island's parade route. Fast miles were run, spectators were merry, and good times were had by all.
Today's newsletter features an extended edition of "Running(ish) News," plus upcoming events and Tweets of the Week. Stay tuned for another Coffee Chat interview next week.
