My apologies for the delayed (and shortened) newsletter this week, which has been busy for me.  I've had family in town for my commencement ceremony, where I was formally hooded for my PhD.

Doctoral work is what brought me to California, but the people I've met and with whom I've had the opportunity to talk, debate, run, and race has been the greatest thing I've gained through the entire process. My sincere thanks to all of you guys that have joined in our Thursday morning shenanigans. Helping build Breakfast Club into a near institution has been a wonderful experience.

Biggest thanks, of course, goes to the indubitable Breakfast Club stalwart, Caitlin Smith, whose awesomeness and patience leaves me utterly staggered.
