Green cathedrals in the PNW. I traveled to Seattle a few weeks ago for a conference and took a side quest to Olympic National Park.

I’ve got a few ideas on the burner, but they’re not fully baked yet. 

In lieu of longer-form writing, here are a few recent things I've read, listened to, and watched.

What I'm reading:

  • Inhabiting the Negative Space. Oakland artist Jenny Odell gave this 2020 commencement speech to the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She argues that design, whether we’re creating useful objects or new policy or new forms of business, is ”a practice of perspective and scope,” one that's most successful when we move outside of our habitual ways of viewing the world.
